Alright, sorry for the hold up. Summer is almost over and I am getting back to it. We will be doing our darndest to blow the roof off of the Brass for all of our Final Friday Sessions. these nights will represents the organic development of our live performance together. Slowly becoming more integrated.

In celebration of these events, this season, and the spirit they bring. I present you a new mix for download. This mix has Cinco and I both manning the decks, trading off every three tracks. You know how we do! Anyway here it is, “Sonic Textures”, the name says it all. Be sure to see it through. This is one of my favorites, fo’ sho’!!! Take a hike and bug out!!!

By far, my favorie new band.

I am looking forward to this Friday’s PlusVibes event at the Brass. I will be opening and playing set breaks for Jeff Bujak. Jeff is an excellent keyboardist who will play live over his own sampled and sequenced loops. Please check his site for more info. The show will start at 9. Buj will play two hour and fifteen minute sets. I will cover the rest. I plan on using his sets to break up a few different sets stylistically speaking.

I know it has been a minute. My apologies. I am just now realizing that I am not 22 anymore. Mostly ’cause my partner in crime, Jc5, and I chose to go REAL HARD for this one.

Just like this guy…

 We showed up at the venue 15 minutes prior to the doors opening (So-not-cool, I know). Being sure to secure our admission tickets to the after-party (Most-definitely-cool, I am certain). After which, we proceeded to roll down the block to inbibe ourselves at the always lovely Silk City Lounge. The whole time we treated doubles as singles, even going as far as the $17 Gin Martini. YUM! Needless to say, by about 9:30 when we rolled back to the Starlight for the show, we were well primed. Having already got stamped and wrist-strapped, it was straight to the dancefloor.

With these folks…

 The line-up was quite refreshing. Telepathe and Abe Vigoda both on the teetering on the cutting edge of the indie rock scene. And  the  MAD DECENT boys (Diplo, Boy-8 Bit, and Blaqstarr) each promoting their own brand of electroMADness!!! Everyone killed it. Philly obviously favored the hometown boy, if not because of his residence, definitely in the spirit of celebrating his recent birthday. Speaking of which, the Mad Decnt crew made a stand up move by buying approx. 200 pizzas in honor of the b-day boy. Then, as if that wasn’t kind enough, one of the gang suffered through the entire night wearing that huge pizza costume (above). Hillarious!!! Anyway, long story short, the night was amazing!!!!! For a good part of the evening I felt as if we were all moving collectively as one big mass of rhythymic harmony. A feeling that was, at one time, more common to me than it is at present. A throwback to the future indeed. Thanks guys.

I know many of you became familiar with the boy, Kid Cudi (pronounced Kuddy), through my frequent rotations of the Crookers Remix of his track “Day and Nite” this past Summer. These guys are most definitely a match made in heaven. However when I got a hold of this version of “Embrace the Martian” by the Roundtable Knights I realized, once again, the absolute strength of outside influence. From their dose of stardust was created what I consider to be the best version of this track. This is my favorite Martian…Embrace it please!!!!
